I’ll be appearing at the Radisson Downtown Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah to present at CONduit 21 writer’s conference May 27-29, 2011. I’ve been asked to participate in four panels on the following topics:
- What are the new monsters today?
- We have Hellboy and a few others, but more and more, writers are going back to the old standbys. Where are the “new” monsters today? Amber Argyle, Larry Correia, Paul Genesse, Dan Wells, Roger White
2. Women in Fantasy
- L. E. Modesitt, Jr., Amber Argyle, Dene Low (M), Elisabeth Waters, Carole Nelson Douglas
3. How to Write Great Villains
- Clint Johnson, Amber Argyle, Roger White, Howard Tayler, Dan Wells
4. High Fantasy: it’s more than just elves and unicorns
- Amber Argyle, Ami Chopine, Chris Weston, Peter Orullian, Stephen Gashler
I’ll also be doing a reading of Witch Song on Friday from 4:00- 4:25 (Should I admit that I’m panicked no one will come? Cause I am. So if you’re going to CONduit, you HAVE to come to my reading. There will be signed bookmarks for those that do (no, I’m not above bribery)).
Also, stop by and say hi. If you’d like to do lunch or dinner, email me at amberargyle at yahoo dot com and we’ll work something out. 🙂

I wish I could go! You're going to have so much fun!
Amber, that's exciting (freaky, scary too, I know), but still exciting. Good luck with that. I'd love to come to your reading if I was attending. I'm going to have to do a better job with my vacation time. There seems to be a lot of conference in Utah in the mid winter/springtime. Ugh!
Gah, I totally forgot about CONduit this year, and accidentally scheduled a family vacation for that weekend. Maybe I can reschedule… :/
Robin: Aw, come on. Can't you finagle something?
Donna: Yeah. You just can't hit them all.
Ben: Let me know if you make it!
Sadly, not so soon after Storymakers. My day-job needs attention and I'm out of travel cash. 🙁
Very exciting!! Have a great time presenting!!
Paul: Thanks! I've never been to CONduit, so we'll see how it goes.
I wish I could come, Amber! I would love to meet you and LOVE to listen to your presentations! Good luck! Hopefully I'll get to meet you one of these days!
